Viridian Artists’ Young Artists Program & the Barbara K Schwartz Fellowship for Young Artists:
In the spirit of promoting young and emerging artists, Viridian is now offering a special affiliation for professional artists who are between 21-29 years of age and desire to be represented by our artist-owned Chelsea gallery. With full awareness of the high cost of contemporary life, artists selected for this program will pay $75 monthly. When they reach their 30th birthday, the dues will increase to the full associate rate or they can become an Affiliate. The artists' commitment for this Young Artist program is for 1 year as they contribute to the financial support of the gallery through their dues. Artists are asked to contribute 2 “work hours” monthly.
Young Artists wishing to apply for this representation may submit 4-8 jpgs of recent art (along with title, size, media & date completed), an artist’s statement & resume. Or, if you have a website with images of your art, an artist statement & bio, you may send us your website for this preliminary review instead. If the committee approves of your art in this preliminary review, you will be asked to submit four actual works for the final vote.
We are now also offering one winner in our annual 30 Under 30 Competition who is committed to joining Viridian, a Barbara K Schwartz Fellowship that covers the cost of their dues for one year. To apply for the Barbara K Schwartz Fellowship, Young Artists must first apply to our annual 30 Under 30 Juried competition and indicate their desire to become a Young Viridian Artist.
